To produce this list, staff of CIMMYT´s Scientific Information Unit use the VAX-based integrated library package BASIS, from Batelle, purchased several years ago and adapted to the Center´s special purposes. Each year we request researchers to deposit their publications in our library and to send us the full bibliographic information for documents in press. In addition, our staff use various bibliographic tools to locate missing documents or in some cases complete the information sent by researchers. All information on staff publications is entered into our database along with AGRIS categories and descriptor and other information used by CIMMYT when adding documents to its collection. For the purpose of the list, only the most important fields have been selected. We make a special effort to ensure that this list is as complete as possible, but occasionally we encounter documents that have been omitted.
